Chemstat® G-118/52K is a glycerol monostearate with a minimum alpha-monoester content of 52%.
Chemstat® G-118/52K is used as an antistatic agent, internal mold-release agent, flow modifier, and internal lubricant in polyolefins, styrenics, and PVC. It is intended for use in the plastics industry by polymer manufacturers and processors. Chemstat® G-118/52K is soluble above its melting point in vegetable oils, mineral oil, and isopropyl alcohol (Chemstat® G-118/52K is insoluble in water and propylene glycol). Chemstat® G-118/52K is Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS). Reference 21 CFR 184.1324, 184.1505, and 174.5.
