Chemal LA-23

Chemal LA-23 is a nonionic surfactant belonging to the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols, INCI name: Laureth-23. The product belongs to the group of lauryl-alcohol-based surfactants with the chemical description "Poly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl), α-dodecyl-ω-hydroxy-." Chemal LA-23 is most commonly used as an emulsifying and dispersing agent in industrial formulations, including hard-surface and textile cleaners. Use in textile formulations also includes dyeing auxiliaries. It is a soft white solid with a maximum color of 100 APHA at 25 °C. The product is sold in 100% active form and has a melting point of 32 °C. Chemal LA-23 forms a clear solution in water and remains clear up to the boiling point (>100 °C). This product is characterized by an HLB of 16.7 and can be blended with other nonionic, cationic, and anionic agents. Thanks to its long carbon chain, Chemal LA-23 also provides lubricating and emulsifying properties in many industrial formulations.
