Chemax NDO-917 is a synthetic polymerized ester designed to improve performance and surface finish in demanding metalworking applications.
Chemax NDO-917 has a molecular weight that gives it the right structure to replace chlorinated paraffins. It is a branched-chain fatty acid with excellent hydrolytic, oxidative, and biological stability. Chemax NDO-917 was developed for water-dilutable fluids such as soluble oils and semi-synthetics to provide superior lubrication. Treatment levels of 1%-8% in the concentrate are recommended. Because Chemax NDO-917 is based on a tall oil fatty acid with a higher degree of unsaturation, it is not recommended for straight oils or for drawing and stamping applications where high temperatures are expected, as this could cause staining/varnishing.
