Rokanate M PE 0820

Rokanate M PE 0820 is a low-functionality MDI-based prepolymer.

The product is a polyurethane adhesive in the form of a clear liquid with a viscosity of 450–1450 mPas at 25 °C and an NCO content of 10.5–12.0%. Rokanate M PE 0820 is used as component B in two-component formulations for strong, flexible polyurethane products with low hardness (in the Shore 00 and Shore A ranges). Rokanate M PE 0820 is particularly used for the production of hydrophobic gels and elastomers, highly elastic coatings and joints with low water absorption, which show dimensional stability under high humidity conditions. Depending on the polyol component (A) used, the product enables the production of polyurethane elements with selected mechanical properties (hardness, elasticity). Examples of applications include flexible coatings, gel cushions, seat and backrest elements, and other comfort-enhancing accessories, such as shock absorbers for sports footwear. When using Rokanate M PE 0820, control and regulate the humidity and ambient temperature, as well as the water content in other components, especially in the polyol component (A). If the water content in other raw materials exceeds 0.1% or the ambient humidity is high, the molded product will not meet the expected mechanical properties due to an undesirable reaction with water. In addition, the molding time depends, among other things, on the molding temperature and the use of an additional catalyst designed for the production of polyurethane elastomers. For this reason, the selection of processing conditions should always be verified beforehand on a laboratory scale.
