Rokolub® AD 232

Rokolub AD 232 is an aryl ester of phosphoric acid (V) in the form of a light yellow to colorless liquid with a characteristic mild odor.

In the presence of water and acidic or alkaline environment, a hydrolytic reaction occurs, which is typical for this group of chemical compounds. To ensure hydrolytic stability, the product has a very low water level and low acid number, which limits its hydrolysis. Rokolub AD 232 also has a high phosphorus content, which is responsible for the product's unique properties. The product is an AW/EP lubricant used in mineral and synthetic oils of the POE and PAO type for better lubrication. It is dedicated to oils with an ISO VG 32 viscosity grade. Rokolub AD 232 is a particularly important additive against wear and friction in oil blends for equipment operating at high temperatures. It brings a reduction in friction of working elements, which reduces equipment wear. Additionally, it prevents machine wear during overloading. The operation of AW/EP additives involves the creation of a polymeric lubricating film on the surface of steel elements. Phosphoric esters react with metal oxides and hydroxides (especially iron compounds) that are on the surface of metals, creating multi-layer lubricating coatings. As a result, the friction of individual components and equipment wear are reduced. The excellent properties of aryl phosphate esters against wear are confirmed by the results of four-ball tests. The addition of 2% Rokolub AD 232 to mineral oil results in a reduction of the defect diameter by up to 50%. The product also improves the wear resistance of synthetic oils. Its use in the formulation of poly-alpha-olefin (PAO) oil in an amount of 2% can reduce the defect diameter by 40%, and in the formulation of polyester oils (POE) - by 30%. Rokolub AD 232 also favorably affects the lubricating properties of lubricating oils. It effectively cooperates with other EP additives (phosphorus, sulfur, chlorine), providing surface protection in friction joints, especially in sliding contact of materials. Due to its good compatibility with other oil additives, it can be used as part of an additive package. Rokolub AD products are phosphate additives that, unlike widely used sulfated and chlorinated AW/EP additives, do not cause corrosion and pose a risk to human health. The product is used as an additive to industrial oils (hydraulic oils, compressor oils, turbine oils, gear oils) and automotive oils (gear oils).
