It is a synthetic tannin used in the tanning, retanning, and filling of chrome-tanned leather. The product is an aqueous solution of the ammonium salt of a low-molecular-weight resin. It is a viscous, clear or slightly cloudy liquid, colorless to light straw in color. It is characterized by complete water solubility and excellent miscibility with synthetic and vegetable tanning agents.
